Before adventure-travel, humanitarian, and documentary projects seized the majority of my time, I photographed weddings and engagements for 7 years. SEVEN. There’s a sweet energy from people who are over-the-moon for each other, sharing stories steeped in chance meetings, the hilarity of first impressions, relentless pursuit, and seeing different shades of love that have been enriched by friendship, laughter, seasons of hardship, and alchemized by commitment. Witnessing how people love and be loved is good for the soul. For me, it’s transformative and life-giving. Some people run, some people bake—I photograph weddings…and eat.

As a photographer, it’s a mind-blowing invitation to get to see and experience your wedding day in a way that is often more intimate than some of your closest family and friends—to see the details of your day, the quiet moments behind the scenes and the things even you missed because, although you may have wanted to, you simply couldn’t be in a million places at once. ! So yeah. I’m here for it.

To be trusted to shape and tell your wedding story in a way that will become how you remember it for years and years and years (and years) and generations to come?? Whoa. It’s heart-filling and mind-blowing.
